In our technologically driven world, organisations need to stay relevant, sustainable, differentiate themselves from their competitors and make informed decisions. To do this, an organisation must be able to gather and analyse the data available to it, like customer satisfaction or changes in the market, and present the data in a visual format that will support data-driven decision making. Some other advantages of good data analysis include risk management, process optimisation and customer satisfaction.

This data analysis course teaches learners what the role and value of data analysis are in managing a business. Learners will be able to use data analytics tools and techniques to improve sound decision making in their organisation and learn how to represent the data analysis visually so that all stakeholders can interpret and use the data efficiently.

  • Evaluate the role and value of data analytics and business intelligence in managing a business
  • Identify, examine and implement appropriate analytical techniques to organise and analyse data
  • Extract valuable insights to inform strategic decision making
  • Evaluate, prepare and present visual interpretations to various stakeholders
  • Evaluate and select the appropriate data analytic tool(s), such as Power BI versus Tableau, to perform data analysis based on the requirements for a specific business challenge/need
  • Present and make informed data-driven business decisions utilising the information discovered by the data analysis and data visualisation performed

  • Module 3 – Types of Data Analytics for Business
  • Module 4 – Visualising Data and Corporate Performance Management (CPM)
  • Module 5 – Data Analytics Tools for Business
  • Module 6 – Informed Decision-Making using Data Visualisation
  • Final Assessment; Learners are required to prepare and submit a data-driven report based on the data analysis and data visualisation techniques gained throughout their course to confidently apply to and support strategic and informed decisions within a business.
